HotBox Returns as Official Pizza

Prior Convention Set Weekly Sales Record for Indianapolis Company

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS (April 28, 2017) Gen Con, the longest-running game convention in North America, has reached an agreement with HotBox Pizza for a third consecutive year, where they will return as the Official Pizza of Gen Con 50. HotBox set a one-week sales record during Gen Con 2016, surpassing their previous record set during Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. As the Official Pizza Sponsor, HotBox creates a yearly custom pizza for attendees.

“HotBox Pizza is proud to be a Gen Con partner,” said Gabe Connell, Founder at HotBox Pizza. “To us, Gen Con is all about people. The incredible Gen Con staff working tirelessly to organize the chaos, people who travel from near and far to meet friends and share their passion for gaming, and, of course, everyone in the hospitality industry working long hours so that all of our guests have plenty to eat and drink while they enjoy their time in Indy. As a small, local company, HotBox Pizza is honored to be part of such a large and incredible event.”

As part of this agreement, HotBox will create an Official Pizza using feedback from Gen Con attendees. Convention goers may order this pizza either through their Georgia Street tent or at HotBox’s downtown location. In addition, HotBox’s nearly 20 locations will offer their full menu including their signature deals and specialties.

“HotBox Pizza truly embodies Hoosier hospitality,” said Jake Theis, Gen Con’s Sr. Marketing Communications Manager. “We’re excited to continue our relationship with a great local partner that loves our attendees.”

Those interested in attending the historic Gen Con 50 may purchase their badges at gencon.com.
