Gen Con Indy 2013
Gen Con Volunteer Program
If you've ever been to a Gen Con show, you probably have seen that we rely on the generosity of our volunteers to make the convention possible and to ensure Gen Con Indy provides the highest quality experience for our attendees. Your help is what evolves our convention from wishful thinking into a tangible experience for everyone. By donating your time, talent and expertise, you'll not only get an opportunity to meet people who share similar interests, but you may discover a new sense of appreciation for the show.
The Volunteer Program has two exciting avenues for anyone interested in helping to make "The Best Four Days in Gaming!" a reality. For those who want to devote a small amount of time working the show, we have 16-Hour and 32-Hour "Page" positions available. Those interested in becoming a part of the Gen Con family and learning the ins and outs of running a convention should check out our Mentorship Program. While some volunteer positions call for specific skills and experience, most require enthusiasm, dedication, trust and sustainability. Keep in mind, all volunteers must make a minimum commitment of hours in order to receive benefits. There are plenty of opportunities, so take a look and find the level that's the perfect fit for you!
Becoming a Volunteer Page is easy! Just login to your Gen Con account, review the Volunteer Policies, and complete the Volunteer Application (located under the "Volunteer" header above) before July 1, 2013. Returning your completed form by the deadline increases the likelihood of placing you during the hours and within the area you have designated. If you are unable to return your form on or before the deadline, please bring it with you to the convention center and sign up at the Volunteer HQ kiosk.
Anyone interested in becoming an Apprentice in the Mentorship Program must also login to your Gen Con account, review the Volunteer Policies, and complete the Volunteer Application (located under the "Volunteer" header above) by June 1, 2013, so we know you are interested in working at Indy 2013. Apprentices must be accepted into the Mentorship Program before being scheduled, as we have a limited number of Apprentice positions each year. Apprentices accepted for the upcoming show will be contacted in June/July with job information. Captains and Deputies will be contacted individually and invited to return as a volunteer each year.
If you want to work full time for a specific event at Gen Con Indy, you can consider becoming an "Event Volunteer". These volunteers are not part of the Gen Con Volunteer pool, so please contact the Event Organizer or GM to get involved. Event Volunteers interested in joining the Gen Con Volunteer Program are welcome. Just let us know!
