We will work with a live model to learn and practice drawing the human head and designing interesting characters. Topics Included: Overview: a crash course; sketch & study; practice is essential. Materials & line quality: making marks with pencils, ink, digital. Structure: basic forms, proportions, & planes of the human head. Features: eyes, nose, mouth, ears, neck, and hair. Variations: sex, age, ethnicity, and imaginary attributes (sci-fi/fantasy characters). Design: simplify, clarify, emphasize, and stylize your characters.
