The old Marsh store at  227 W. Michigan St. in Indianapolis has been converted into a Krogers and should open on Nov. 16th, according to the Indianapolis Star:

Granted, for some it's not that close to the ICC and downtown hotels. Google clocks it in at 9/10ths of a mile from the ICC. But for others, it's not a terrible walk at all. At any rate, providing there are no surprises or changes between November and next August, there should once again be a grocery store downtown for attendees. Yay!

I walked to Marsh from the Omni Hotel my first Gencon.  Took about fifteen minutes to walk there, then a minimal cab ride back to the hotel with my stash of food and drinks for the con.

It is entirely walkable. I did it from the JW Marriot in 2016, took about 30 min round trip, walking.
