GenCon being the biggest gaming convention in the US it's also the hardest to attend.  We've got a couple decades under our belts of attending and put together this episode to share some of what we've learned over the years.  If this is helpful we'll make another episode for event registration and attendance.

For airport:

Public transit as above.
GO Express shuttle - https://www.goexpresstravel.com/indy_express (They go airport to downtown hotels for a reasonable amount and run almost 24 hours).

If there are more people than 2, then Uber or Lyft become a good option.

Can you tell me an estimate about how much housing will cost this year? This will be my first year going, but I want to make sure I have enough saved! Thank you!

Highly variable depending on where you stay, but you can see in block hotel prices here.

Don't forget to factor in room taxes (17%) and parking. It all adds up and you want to be as prepared as possible.

Just to pile a bit more on make sure your credit card expires well after the con!  This can be a real nightmare if they go to pull your deposit and the card declines it.

Good call on the CC issue.  I had one that i had to get replaced (the card got hacked, 2 weeks before the con, so got issued a new one)< but all my purchases were made on the old one.  So when i went to refund my badge (after getting comped for my GM one), they had issues 'crediting back my card'..  Though that was an Origins..
