Be sure to register your child and obtain a Child Wristband either before the show through our registration system or at the show in the Main Registration area. Registering your child is an important security feature and allows Gen Con Event Staff to reunite lost children with their parents or guardians if they are separated during the show. The wristband will include the ID number and contact information attached to the parent’s or guardian’s Gen Con account (whomever registered the child). A parent or guardian who registers a child through their account may also purchase event tickets for that child for any KID events in our registration system. How to Register Your Child Remember, this feature is only for children ages 8 and under who are attending this year’s show. Simply log into your Gen Con account and click the "Get A Badge" link in the left nav. Click the "Select" button next to "Child Wristband" and enter your contact phone number (mobile phone numbers are best if you will be bringing it with you to the show). Then check the box next to your child's name. If they are not yet on your list of friends and family members, click "Someone else" and then click the "Don't Know" button. Enter your child's first and last name in the appropriate boxes and click "Find". The wristband will appear in your cart on the right. Keep in mind that you must have a valid Gen Con badge yourself in order to obtain a Child Wristband. These wristbands are free, but we require all children under 8 to have one while at the show. The Wristband will be mailed to you in your Gen Con packet if you obtain it before Pre-Registration ends on June 29 and choose a ship-to-me method. If you choose Will Call or get the wristband after June 29, it will be in your Will Call packet when you arrive at the show. Children Participating in Events Anyone age 9 or older must have a Gen Con badge in order to attend Gen Con Indy and participate in events. Children ages 8 and under may be registered with Gen Con and obtain a Child Wristband for security purposes in order to attend Gen Con Indy, and event tickets for KID events may be purchased for those children. If your under-8 child is ready to participate in non-KID events, you must purchase a 4-Day or 1-Day badge for them (for whatever day(s) they wish to participate in events). This means your child is ready to move from being a spectator to an active participant at Gen Con. Event RegistrationEvents run throughout the four days of Gen Con, and tickets are required for most events. Ticket prices vary per event. For information on purchasing event tickets, check out our Attendee FAQ. To find events and purchase tickets once Event Registration has opened, log into our online registration system.
