Over the course of 4 years we interviewed over 100 professionals in the Tabletop RPG industry, coming from companies such as Evil Genius Games, RPG Chronicles, Paizo, Wizards of the Coast, Roll for Combat, Luminant Age, Critical Hit Cookies, Something Clever Games, Eldritch Osiris Games, Coyote & Crow, Green Ronin, Evil Robot Games, Dire Rugrat Publishing, Kobold Press, Shield Maidens, Legendary Games, Renegade Games, Steve Jackson Games and more. Each interviewee shared their story as a founder, designer, developer, artist, editor, freelancer, or content creator, as well as how they got started and what advice they would share with someone who is interested in getting started in the industry. Our analysis examines commonalities in their responses and provides valuable insights for both those already in the industry as well as those who are interested in getting started now.
