Short Description:
Join the members of Gotokukan, an Indianapolis Kendo Dojo, to learn some of the basics of Kendo. This will be interactive and include actual drills.
Long Description:
You will learn with the shinai (split bamboo sword) in hands-on instruction lead by the kenshi, including proper footwork, how to hold the shinai, and how to strike a target. This includes being able to strike an actual target! Finally, there will be a demonstration of shiai (fully armored sparring). All equipment will be provided. Money raised will benefit Gotokukan Dojo, a non-profit kendo dojo in Indianapolis.
