Cairo, 1200 CE. The discovery of a lost map leading to a hidden relic sends the adventurers on a daring collection mission, which will test their mettle and could shape the fate of the Holy Lands.
Long Description:
The year is 1200 CE. Most of the Holy Land is in the control of the Ayyubid Empire. Leaders, Muslim and Christian alike, jostle for dominance and territory, and coming wars loom on the horizon. The neighboring Abbasid Caliphate and Sultanate of Rum pressure the Ayyubid northern borders, and soon another Crusade will be called. Scholars, holy men, and rulers scour ancient texts for legends of relics which might tip the scales.
When a humble shopkeeper makes a curious discovery in a Cairo bazaar, a collection of parchment wrapped in leather, the adventurers are sent to collect it: for within the bound leather is a map that leads to a sacred relic, which could lead to endless prosperity, and power.
This adventure for 5th level characters takes place in the Historica Arcanum universe, where real history meets dark fantasy. Pre-generated characters will be provided.
