Long Description:
Pit is a fast, loud trading game inspired by the open outcry stock market. Players race to collect all cards of a single commodity such as wheat, coffee, corn, or sugar by trading with everyone at the table at once. Once someone shouts “Market’s open!”, players begin offering trades by calling out how many cards they want to exchange, usually one, two, or three, while holding those cards face down. When two players call the same number, they quickly swap cards and only then see what they received. The chaos builds as players shout offers and scramble to complete their sets. If a player collects all nine cards of one commodity, they shout “Corner!” to end the round and score points. Optional Bull and Bear cards add extra twists with bonuses and penalties. Rounds continue until someone reaches the winning score. Expect noise, laughter, and total trading chaos.
