INDIANAPOLIS (March 12, 2020) Gen Con, the largest and longest-running tabletop gaming convention in North America, has named highly acclaimed and New York Times–bestselling fantasy author R. A. Salvatore as the event’s 2020 Author Guest of Honor. Salvatore will take part in several events as part of the convention’s Writer’s Symposium program, including book signings and appearances.
“We’re excited to announce R. A. Salvatore as our Author Guest of Honor for Gen Con 2020,” said Jeannette LeGault, Gen Con’s Senior Director of Event Programming. “His longtime contributions both to fantasy literature and to tabletop roleplaying games have earned him many fans among our attendees, and we look forward to creating opportunities for readers to encounter him and his work at the convention this year.”
The convention features a wide range of programming for fans and authors of speculative fiction, including Authors’ Avenue in the Exhibit Hall and the extensive offering of seminars and events that make up the Writer’s Symposium. Specific details about events will be released in the event catalog on the convention’s website in early May.
Gen Con returns to Indianapolis July 30 – August 2, 2020.
