Gen Con Extends Partnership with Sun King Brewery for Three Years

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS (February 8, 2019) Gen Con, the largest and longest-running tabletop game convention in North America, has signed a multiyear agreement with Sun King Brewery as the Official Beer of Gen Con for the upcoming 2019, 2020, and 2021 conventions. Sun King, a popular Indianapolis craft brewery, will produce a limited-release Gen Con beer for each convention, featuring exclusive can artwork selected by fans in an annual contest on social media.

“From the first time I encountered Gen Con working downtown in the early 2000s, I was amazed at the spirit of the event and the good nature of the attendees,” said Clay Robinson, Sun King Co-Founder and CEO. “Over the years, as the convention grew, and a partnership with Sun King developed, I've been able to see firsthand how great an impact Gen Con has on Indy. It is truly the most unique and spirited event of each year and an honor to be a part of!”

Sun King will also operate an outdoor beer garden on Georgia St. during each convention, and host a tapping party on the preceding Wednesday evening to release the year’s limited run of Gen Con licensed beer. Sun King Brewery has been the Official Beer of Gen Con since 2012.

“Enjoying a Sun King beer is a delicious and refreshing Gen Con tradition for many of our attendees, and we couldn’t be more excited to continue partnering with them for our next three shows,” said Megan Culver, Gen Con’s Senior Director of Sales & Marketing. “Sun King produces unique beers of exceptional quality, and we look forward to sharing their exclusive Gen Con brew with our attendees each year.”

Gen Con returns to Indianapolis August 1-4, 2019.
