We just eat it and reserve outside the block almost a year in advance.

Used the housing lottery once and ended up 20min outside of town, then you have to deal with a car and parking or a shuttle of time kind. Won't ever do that again. It is so dang nice to be able to just pop over to your hotel at any time for a break if needed.

That's insane! The bottom line is getting a hotel reservation before departure...
