Any information on 2017 VIG availability?

I know the VIG tickets are always short availability and generally already spoken for but I figured I'd post something incase there may be a few that open up again this year.
I believe last year there was a drawing for those interested in available ones but it wasn't communicated in the newsletter that had gone out and instead was just on the forums. So I figured I should start inquiring about it already incase some do open up.

Gen Con has stated, "Please feel free to apply [for VIG] next year. We will be taking selections after Gen Con 2016 for the 2017 show. Email [email protected] in December of this year or early January 2017 to be put on the list!"

Please send your NameGen Con ID number, and the email associated with that account to [email protected]. We will enter you into the random selection process.
Each person wishing to be entered should send a separate email with their information to avoid confusion.
We will be conducting the random selection in early January. You will be contacted if you are selected with further instructions at that time.

Thanks for the info!

Should we expect a confirmation email reply or not? ("Got your application. Love, Gencon")

Apologies and thanks for your time.

Let's see, 600 VIG tickets, 60,000 people attending the convention.
People beating those odds to score a ticket should be making the Vegas casino circuit on a professional basis.

But how many of those 60k people are willing to spend the 6x cost? With the housing benefit, I'm sure it's plenty—but not 100%.

I sent those confirmations out until the 15th of December.
If you emailed after that then you would not have received one but you're still on the list for the drawing. Today is the last day I'm accepting entries. I will be conducting the drawing sometime this week, and notifying the winners next week sometime.

For that tidbit you'd have to ask the convention folks.
I don't recall seeing any numbers posted on new ticket availability, nor applicants for them.

Purely forma curiosity standpoint...  what are our odds?  I know you can't give us specific numbers.  But are we looking at 1/5 range, 1/100 range, 1/1000 range?

I want to know how horribly unlucky I am :).

Mike -

Any idea when the drawing for new VIGs will be completed?

Happy New Year and thanks for all your hard work.

Yog-sothoth, didn't Mike just answer your question yesterday (as per his post above)?

Those who are entered into the random drawing will be hearing from us within the next two weeks if you are selected. I will only be sending emails out to the people who are selected.
The deadline for entry has passed and I'm starting my random selection process now.

I will be sending the email to your Gen Con account email address, so please expect to see it come to that account.

Small Request:  I know it's too much work to send each individual who doesn't get selected a personalized e-mail.  But, once the selection process is completed could you post here, and on the facebook group (and other places you advertised the lottery) that the selection process is complete?  It's not necessary, but if I don't get picked in the lottery it would be nice to know that the process is done and stop thinking about it :).

Makes sense. I will post it here after I have sent out the initial email to those who are selected.

The selections for new VIG packages have been made, and an email has been sent out to the potential VIG package purchasers.

Man, I tried not to get my hopes up but couldn't help it. Bummer. Maybe next year.

Can't be true; I never got an email! :)

Thanks; better luck next year to everyone!

Drat.  :)

Keep in mind the renewals are first. That leaves maybe 100 slots. There were likely 10,000 or so requests so not great odds but worth throwing your name in. :)

(and no, *sniff*, I didn't get in this year either - maybe next year).

Huh. That's weird. I never received a confirmation, and I had sent mine on November 21st.

Oh well. I will try entering again next year.
