Now willing to join the group to post, so I'll add here I got a room 8.8 miles away.  Not happy.  But, not mad, either (given the supply and demand issues, I'm not sure what else you could do besides random assignment which seems fair to all involved).  I'll keep trying.

Not counting myself, since I did not participate in the housing lottery, of the four people in my party who were in the lottery, all were offered rooms through the block, but the only one who got a downtown room had a 1:16pm placement time. Everyone else was after 3:30pm and decided to decline a reservation at this time and take their chances trying later throughout the year.

I don't Facebook so I'll leave this here.

Everything within 465 was gone when my time (4:36) rolled around so I booked an airport room outside of the block.  Not thrilled about it, but I figure it's still an upgrade over last year so I'm not upset either.
