Hi, we've been booking through the housing block for 10-ish years, and this hasn't happened to us before, so I wanted to ask around before contacting the hotel directly. We booked a corner suite at the Embassy Suites through the housing block - the confirm email from Q-rooms said our total price (incl. tax) was $1,464.84. However, now that the reservation has been transferred to Embassy Suites, my Hilton account is showing the total price as $1,652.04. To make things weirder, my credit card was charged $366.21 for the first night deposit (which would total $1,464.84 for four nights).
Does anyone has experience with the hotel website listing a separate price after your housing block reservation was transferred over? Thank you!
An update, in case anyone has a similar issue:
I called Hilton's general line, and they confirmed the price they had on file for my reservation was $1,652.04 (~$200 more than the housing block rate). However, they offered to transfer my call to the Indy Embassy Suites' sales representative to discuss further. When I talked to the sales rep, the price they had on file was the Q-rooms rate ($1,464.84), and they had no idea why my Hilton account would show a different rate. I was content that the hotel itself had the original rate in their files, so I ended the call.
About 15 minutes later, when I went to check my Hilton account, the listed price dropped back down to the original rate. So I'm guessing that there was some kind of error between the two systems, and Hilton fixed it.
I think I would've been fine if I just left it, but given that the rate difference was a couple hundred bucks, I didn't want to chance it. Just a heads up to double check that your final hotel costs match the confirmation email from the housing block!
